Who We Are
Chicky Tackle Company, LLC, was founded in July of 2010 by the husband and wife team of Charles and Vicky Sablatura. As a matter of fact, that is where the name Chicky Tackle Company comes from. The “CH” of Charles and the “ICKY” of Vicky were combined to create Chicky. Chicky Tackle Company, LLC, is the parent company of The Rockport Rattler® product line. Charles and Vicky first became associated with the Rockport Rattler® product when they started fishing with the products in the early 2000’s. In 2009, when looking for a business to invest in, Charles discovered that Rockport Rattler was for sale. Charles and Vicky started negotiations with the old owner and invested initially in 2009 to help fund the completion of the patent. After the patent was achieved in November of 2009, Charles & Vicky formed Chicky Tackle Company, LLC, and then completed the acquisition of the Rockport Rattler® product line in July of 2010. Since that time, they have invested heavily into improving production capabilities, inventory facilities, advertising and a sales and management team to make sure they can produce a quality product in quantities that can support their partners and the retail customer demands.
This venture is not their first rodeo in to the world of entrepreneurism. Charles has owned 3 other very successful companies in the high tech world. He brings his many years of experience of building successful businesses and assembling outstanding corporate teams to Chicky Tackle Company, LLC.
Both Charles and Vicky are tireless supporters of hunting and fishing related sports as well as the natural resources that are crucial to sustain these activities. They have been volunteers and donors to the CCA for 25 years as well as avid contributors to Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Operation Game Thief, Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited and Texas Deer Association fund raising efforts.
Chicky Tackle Company has since added to the Rockport Rattler® product line with more sizes, different styles and completely new products to target different species of fish.
The Rockport Rattler® jig combines sound, color and light reflecting diamond cut glass or moving 3D eyes to give every angler an advantage over conventional jig heads. By employing a combination of sound, eyes and color, The Rockport Rattler® has become one of the most effective jig heads on the market today. This product has changed the paradigm for the jig head industry and has raised the bar way up for the competition. The jig head is no longer a passive participant in the angler’s bait presentation. It now plays an active part in providing fish attracting qualities found in no other jig on the market.
Anglers from all over the world are having great success with these products to catching anything from Reds, Trout, Flounder, Drum and Snook along the Gulf coast to Striped Bass and Blue Fish on the upper East coast to Walleye, Pike and lake Trout in the Midwest and Western states to Crappie (Sacalait) and Bass in the Southern states to who knows what in South America and Australia.
